Zamlada
(2025)
Brno 1994 - 2000 - 2024.
The book Zamlada is a project that set itself the goal of mapping graffiti from the nineties that have survived to this day. All preserved graffiti was captured in analog photography over the past 4 years so that the images in the book would have a perfect nineties atmosphere.
When taking photos, the author focused on places that, by their nature, could offer the last fragments of the works of graffiti pioneers. Sometimes it was necessary to climb a rusty ladder to the roof of a factory, at other times to cut down bushes so that the lens could capture the wall. As the author himself states in the book, he walked for dozens of hours and countless kilometers through the urban jungle, in which he searched for survivors. The author then compares his walks through the city to a journey through a cemetery, where tombstones have replaced the walls of houses, garages and subways.
The book is published in a very limited edition of 50 copies. The book cover is designed with a cutout in the covers, which creates a view of the attached analog photograph, which is always part of each print in one original.
