Padiglione in Movimento
(2025)

Padiglione in Movimento is the first complete publication documenting the unauthorised train art project that unfolded in parallel with the Venice Art Biennale across three editions: 2017, 2022, and 2024. During these years, international artists intervened on regional trains, transforming them into moving canvases dedicated to a symbolic and clandestine space: the Pavilion of the Vandals, a pavilion for artists who work in secrecy, whose creations exist outside institutional boundaries and legality.

Beyond the visual documentation of the three Padiglione in Movimento projects, the book also explores the broader context of Venetian experimental train painting and offers an overview of urban and graffiti art intersecting with the Biennale since the 1980s.

Rich with photographic material and first-hand perspectives, this publication positions Padiglione in Movimento within Venice’s complex art ecosystem, between the official and the underground, the visible and the invisible.

The publication builds upon the first Padiglione in Movimento zine released in 2017, expanding its vision into a comprehensive documentation of all three editions and tracing the evolution of this unique intersection between urban art and the Venice Biennale.
